Flutter
Lea Glueck I lie in the grass beneath swaying trees, a sparkling sun and slow falling leaves Warmth caresses my skin in the summer breeze, my eyes flutter close and dissolve my unease For often I fret of what tomorrow may bring, the unknown makes me fear the unknowable things I come back to the present, fingers in grass, why should I worry if there’s no way to ask? I should do what I can and accept what may be, force my mind in the moment of reality They say that to win, know yourself and thy enemy, but how do I fight if the fight is against me? The war in my mind will stay unspoken, undeclared, I may not be ready but I will be prepared Rays of light shine through cracks in the branches, the future awaits and I’ll take my chances |
